Polaris

Polaris is the daughter of Magneto and one of the earliest recruits to the X-Men. With metal manipulation abilities that rival her father’s, Polaris has used these gifts to combat super villainy alongside the X-Men and X-Factor.

Mistress of Magnetism

Magnetized

Mesmero uses a device to enhance his already impressive mental mastery, and begins to draw mutants from across the country to himself. Among them is a young woman named Lorna Dane. Iceman rescues her before she falls into the villain’s clutches, and after she reveals her naturally green hair, he and Beast suspect that she’s a mutant like them!

Deadly Genesis

With most of the original X-Men team trapped on the sentient island Krakoa, Professor X recruits new members to rescue them alongside mainstays like Cyclops, Havok, and Lorna. By combining her abilities with those of her fellow X-Men, Lorna is able to reach incredible new levels of power, and launches the living landform into orbit!

Malicious Intent

Havok leaves to check in with the X-Men, leaving his paramour Polaris alone at their homestead. However, the Marauders are also there, stalking Polaris from out of sight, and she has to take on Sabretooth, Arclight, and Scalphunter singlehandedly! But in a shocking twist, the evil mutant known as Malice was in control of Polaris the entire time, and was testing her abilities against the Marauders.

The Dane Curse

After finally freeing herself from Malice’s possession, Polaris is almost immediately kidnapped by Savage Land priestess Zaladane, who claims to be Lorna’s sister. Spirited away to Zaladane’s Antarctic homeland, Polaris’ best chance of liberation lies with Havok, who infiltrates Zaladane’s army in disguise.

All-New, All-Different X-Factor

When the original version of X-Factor consisting of the original X-Men disbands, the US government steps in to create its own mutant super-team! With recruits including Strong Guy, Wolfsbane and Multiple Man, and Havok and Polaris as the team leaders, the team is set to safeguard the country from any and all mutant threats!

Decimation

While still reeling from the loss of her powers in the wake of House of M, and anxious over recently revealing that fact to her teammates, Polaris encounters a mysterious being called Daap that only she could understand. The creature transformed and carried Polaris off to the lair of Apocalypse, where the first mutant tempted her with the return of her abilities in exchange for becoming his Horseman of Pestilence.

The Rise and Fall of the Shi’ar Empire

Vulcan, the long-lost brother of Cyclops and Havok, has his sights set on the Shi’ar throne! Feeling responsible for his estranged student’s actions, Professor X assembles a group of X-Men to head off into space to protect the galaxy. Looking to repent for her actions under Apocalypse, Polaris joins up with the ragtag team.

Breaking Points

Polaris’ origin is revealed! Lorna had believed that Magneto was responsible for the deaths of the Danes, but the truth is revealed by Longshot’s psychometric powers. In actuality, Lorna had accidentally killed her parents when her abilities flared up for the first time. Magneto discovered his young daughter in the aftermath, and had Mastermind rewrite Lorna’s memories.

Always Read the Terms of Service

Mega-conglomerate Serval Industries purchases the X-Factor name from Jamie Madrox, and creates their own corporate-sponsored super hero team! Heading up the initiative is Polaris, who recruits fellow X-Man Gambit.

Secret Empire

The time-displaced original X-Men team is arrested in the newly established mutant nation of New Tian! Polaris, operating under the auspices of her father and Blue Team mentor Magneto, breaks them out of prison, and continues to monitor Magneto’s methods.
